Solstice / Sólstöður
A solstice is an astronomical event that occurs twice each year. Solstices either mark the longest day of the year – summer solstice, or the shortest – winter solstice and both mark the climax of the season.
The space between day and night fades away and they melt into one. At summer solstice the sun lights up the night in contrast with the winter solstice when the moon illuminates the day. the sun and the moon change roles although always connected and truly indivisible.
Solstices are decorative mobiles that come in two sizes and variations. Summer solstice, where the sun is dominant - Outer circle copper/inner circle steel. Winter solstice, where the moon in dominant - Outer circle steel/inner circle copper.

Sólstöður eiga sér stað tvisvar á ári, að sumri og að vetri og hvor um sig markar hápunkt árstíðar.
Skil milli dags og nætur mást út og nótt og dagur renna saman í eitt. Á sumarsólstöðum lýsir sólin upp nóttina en á vetrarsólstöðum lýsir tunglið upp daginn. Sól og tungl skipta um hlutverk en eru þó ávallt samtengd og skapa órjúfanlega heild. Saman mynda þau óróana Sólstöður.
Sólstöður eru óróar sem koma í tveimur ólíkum samsetningum og stærðum. Sumarsólstöður, þar sem sólin er ráðandi - Ytri hringur kopar/innri hringur stál. Vetrarsólstöður, þar sem tunglið er ráðandi - Ytri hringur stál/innri hringur kopar.
